BOSCA AGM
Our AGM will be held in the meeting room at the school at 6.45pm on Monday 7th October 2019. All parents and carers are warmly invited to hear an update on operations, Bosca’s plans for the coming term and meet members of the parent-run Bosca board. New members would be very welcome. If you are stuck for childcare please speak to staff at the door.
Staff training and recruitment is ongoing. We said goodbye to Chelsea, Gary, Hannah and Winnie who have moved on to further study and full-time employment. They will be sadly missed. We are welcoming Carl, Katie and Nicole to our team and hope to fill all vacancies soon.
Our current training opportunities for the staff team include autism awareness, medication awareness and how to support children with allergies, anaphylaxis, asthma and epilepsy. Some of our team will be studying towards The Level 3 and 4 Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Social Services (Children and Young People). This qualification recognises the skills, knowledge and abilities required of support workers within an out of school care setting. https://www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/69187.html
Play opportunities at Bosca
If you are able to attend the AGM on Monday 7th October 2019 you will be able to see some evidence of what choices the children have when at BOSCA.
Due to soo many people using the building you will be familiar with all adults being asked to wait in the reception area. Bosca complies with this for the safety of your child. Parents and carers are always welcome to come in and speak privately with the staff and raise any concerns. To allow you the opportunity to see your child play, we will continue to display crafts and photographs at our sign out area and will keep our Twitter account updated @bosca91
Our open doors week earlier in the year allowed parents and carers the chance to see what their children were choosing to do at Bosca. We will aim to offer more opportunities to do this throughout the year. We would like to invite you to come in and collect your child the week commencing Tuesday 8th October before we break up for midterm.
